Spring Bulbs in Rooftop Containers

The Chicago Botanic Garden?s Horticultural Therapy Services staff welcomes all community members to the first Free Community Engagement evening program, hosted by Thresholds? Buffett Place. Beginning at 5:00pm, attendees will gather in the 1st floor common area at Buffett Place where you?ll enjoy refreshments while we discuss the plant-based activity for the evening. At 5:30pm, we will head up to the beautiful Buffett Place green roof deck for our spring bulb planting activity. During the session, all attendees will learn how to appropriately plant, or ?force?, spring bulbs into our rooftop containers. These bulbs will then stay in the containers and hibernate over the winter and come spring, they?ll bloom into beautiful displays of white and yellow daffodils.
